Annual and six-monthly servicing, battery checks and call-out cover for burglar and intruder alarms across Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire and Essex. We service Texecom, Orisec, Ajax and all major brands, whoever originally fitted them.
If the system seems to be working, it's tempting to leave it. But alarms fail in three predictable ways — and a service visit catches all three before they bite you.
Higher-value home policies and most commercial cover require an NSI-approved system kept current with regular servicing. We provide the service certificate insurers ask for.
False alarms erode police response priority, annoy neighbours and burn through goodwill. Most are caused by ageing sensors, weak batteries or comms drift — all things we catch on a service visit.
A planned battery swap costs less than an emergency call-out, and a serviced system rarely fails when you actually need it. Prevention is the cheap option.
Recognise the signs?
Each of these symptoms maps to a specific check we'd do on a service visit. Most are quick to put right — but only if someone actually looks at them.
Service plans
We run two straightforward maintenance plans — one for non-monitored systems, one for monitored. Pick the one that matches what you've got.
For bells-only and self-monitored alarm systems. One thorough service visit a year — the industry standard for non-monitored installations.
For monitored alarm systems connected to an alarm receiving centre. Two visits per year — what most insurers expect, and what NSI grading requires.
Alarm maintenance
One visit per annum is the industry standard for non-monitored systems. Monitored systems are typically serviced twice a year — and your insurer may require it.
It depends on the manufacturer, but we advise every one to two years for optimal performance. We check battery condition on every service visit and replace any showing signs of weakness — better than waiting for them to fail.
Yes — we'll fit you in for a one-off visit as soon as we can. Contract customers are prioritised first, though, particularly for urgent call-outs.
Texecom, Orisec and Ajax as standard. If you have a system from a different brand, please ask — we might still be able to help, and we'll tell you honestly if it's not one we can service.
Possibly not. Many error codes have quick fixes — flat sensor batteries, a tamper switch, a comms fault. Have a look at our user guides for your system, and call us if it persists. We'll often diagnose it over the phone before sending anyone out.
