A personal service, at NSI standards

Dave Rogers founded Innov8 in 2010 and still runs it with his wife Jane — Dave on the tools, Jane in the office. We're geared to a personal service. Whether it's a door alarm for a home or a complete security system for a multi-site business, every job goes through the same lens: fit what's needed, not what's most profitable, and leave the property tidy.

Dave came into security work in 1998 after eight years with British Telecom and four with the British Army. He trained as a cable jointer at BT before joining the Royal Engineers, where he served as a signaller — responsible for setting up and running radio comms from a HQ armoured fighting vehicle on exercise, plus maintaining the vehicle itself. He left the Army in 1998, joined a small security company to learn installation and service work, moved to a large national security firm to build on it, and set up Innov8 in 2010. The thread running through all of that: comms and security infrastructure that works when it matters.

The person who comes to survey your property is the person who fits the system, and the person who services it a year later. No handover sheets, no losing the detail between visits, no being passed around. For bigger commercial jobs we bring in a trusted second pair of hands; the rest of the time, it's Dave on site and Jane on the phone.

Most of the work still comes through recommendation, which is why we don't spend much on advertising — and why we can keep prices realistic without cutting corners. It's a small operation by design. We earn the next job by doing the current one right.
