CCTV Maintenance · Bishop's Stortford · Herts & Essex

CCTV maintenance, before the footage lets you down.

Camera cleaning, recorder diagnostics, remote viewing tests and firmware updates for CCTV systems across Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire and Essex. We service Hikvision, Ajax and all major brands, whoever installed them.

Why bother servicing your CCTV?

CCTV doesn't usually fail dramatically. It degrades — quietly — until the day something happens and you discover the footage is useless. A service visit catches that decay before you find out the hard way.

01

Footage you can actually use

Clean lenses, working night vision and a verified recorder — the difference between identifying someone on camera and squinting at a blur.

02

Compliance & evidence

For commercial sites, the service report supports insurance claims and police evidence requirements. For domestic, it shows your insurer the system was properly maintained.

03

Catch decay before it bites

Drives wear out, firmware lags, cameras slip out of focus. None of this announces itself — you find out when you need the footage and it's not there.

Recognise the signs?

If you're seeing any of these, your CCTV wants a service

Each of these symptoms maps to a specific check we'd do on a service visit. Most are straightforward to put right — once someone actually looks at them.

CCTV maintenance

Common questions

How often should CCTV be serviced?

Annually for most domestic systems, twice a year for commercial. The point is to catch what you'd never spot day-to-day — recorder drive health, firmware updates, lens condition — before they bite you.

I can see the live feed — isn't that enough?

It's only half the picture. The live view tells you the camera is on. It doesn't tell you whether the recorder is actually storing footage, whether the drive is full or failing, whether the retention period is what you think it is, or whether image quality has degraded enough to be useless as evidence.

Which CCTV brands do you support?

Hikvision and Ajax as standard. If you've got cameras or a recorder from a different brand, please ask — we can often help, and we'll tell you honestly if it's not one we can service.

Can you upgrade my existing system?

Often, yes. If your cameras are decent but the recorder is old, we can swap that and keep what works. If individual cameras have failed, we replace those. Full system replacement only if it's genuinely needed — we'll be honest about it.

What if my drive is full or close to full?

We'll review retention against what you actually need — and what GDPR allows, for commercial sites. Sometimes the answer is more storage, sometimes shorter retention, sometimes better motion-based recording. We'll work out the right setup.
